Who they are…
Preeti Srivastava is lauded as a Kathak legend among the new generation of dancers in India. Apart from performing as a solo artist at prestigious conferences in Kolkata, Katni , Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi and other prominent cities in India, she has also collaborated with legendary artists of world fame such as Pt. Birju Maharaj, Smt. Saswati Sen, Pt. Pratap Pawar and Pt. Anupam Rai to name a few.
Having received training under Sri Prahlad Bhatt, (Allahabad), she is currently training under Kathak Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj. Her professional qualification include Sangeet Praveen (Prayag Sangeet Samiti), M.A. (Dance) from Khairagarh University (M.P.). She is currently pursuing Ph. D in Kathak dance under Dr. Puru Dadhichi from Khairagarh University (M.P.).
Over the years she has received many prestigious awards/ scholarships such as Prayag Gaurav, JEECE Award, Gold Medal at the All India Music and Dance Competition (Prayag Sangeet Samiti), G.E.C. award and National Scholarship by the Department of Culture- Government of India.
In her professional career spanning over a decade, she has worked at prestigious positions as a Dance Instructor including Senior Teacher and Head of The department of Kathak Dance at Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad (1996-2004). Apart from being a busy performer she is heading the Dance department at Gurgaon School of Music (Gurgaon). She is also at the helm of affairs at Ruddra Sangeet Vidyalaya (Chattarpur, Delhi). She has mesmerized audience with her Kathak Mudras and moves in her performances across the word.
